Prepare ingredients required for cooking (portioning, dicing, storage, etc.). Wash and peel fresh vegetables and fruits; measure, weigh, and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food in accordance with recipes, quality standards, plating guidelines, and food preparation checklists. Prepare cold foods. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Conduct tests to verify that food is cooked thoroughly. Monitor food quality during preparation. Set up and clean work areas. Portion food correctly into appropriate containers. Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment. Ensure equipment and food temperatures are appropriate.
Comply fully with company policies and procedures regarding safety and security; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management; complete safety training and certification. Maintain clean and professional uniforms and appearance; safeguard confidential information and protect company assets. Communicate clearly and professionally with others. Build and maintain positive working relationships with others; support the team in achieving shared goals; listen to and appropriately address concerns raised by other employees. Strictly adhere to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout entire shifts. Reach overhead and below knee level; bend, twist, pull, push, and squat. Lift, carry, move, push, pull, and position objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Perform other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.
Desired Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Relevant Work Experience: At least one year of related work experience.
