Prepare ingredients required for cooking (portioning, dicing, storage, etc.). Wash and peel fresh vegetables and fruits; measure, weigh, and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food in accordance with recipes, quality standards, plating guidelines, and food preparation checklists. Prepare cold foods. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Conduct tests to verify proper cooking of food. Monitor food quality during preparation. Set up and clean work areas. Portion food into appropriate containers with correct quantities. Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment. Ensure equipment and food temperatures are appropriate.
Comply fully with company policies and procedures regarding safety and security; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to managers; complete safety training and certification. Ensure uniforms and personal appearance are clean and professional; safeguard confidential information and protect company assets. Communicate clearly and professionally with others. Build and maintain positive working relationships with others; support the team in achieving common goals; listen attentively to colleagues’ concerns and respond appropriately. Strictly uphold quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout entire shifts. Reach overhead and below knee level; bend, twist, pull, push, and squat. Lift, carry, move, push, pull, and position objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Perform other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.
