Planet’s mission is to create a world of connected commerce where payments are simple, secure, and seamless—enabling partners to deliver exceptional experiences to their customers. **Role:** This role will be responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously evolving production-grade AI workflows aimed at automating and augmenting work across Planet’s internal systems—including HR, Finance, Operations, and CRM. The professional will be accountable not only for technology delivery but also for the quality of decisions it produces—building agents, prompts, and retrieval pipelines that business users can trust. **The role’s impact will be direct:** developing reliable and auditable AI solutions capable of reducing manual effort and improving the quality and speed of daily decisions within the company. **Responsibilities:** Design and build production-grade AI workflows integrated with internal systems such as HR, Finance, Operations, and CRM; Implement orchestration logic, including triggers, retries, fallbacks, and human\-in\-the\-loop patterns; Ensure workflows operate reliably, observably, and auditably; Develop and maintain AI agents, prompts, retrieval pipelines, and decision logic; Take ownership of model behavior in production—including accuracy, utility, failure modes, and handling of edge cases and ambiguity; Iterate model performance using evaluation frameworks, feedback cycles, and real-world usage data; Define and track success metrics such as accuracy, resolution rate, and time saved; Assume accountability for decision quality and outcomes—not just technical execution; Diagnose cases where systems function technically but produce weak results; Collaborate with Data Engineering on shared platforms—including infrastructure, CI/CD, data pipelines, security, and governance; Contribute to shared standards, schemas, and best practices for AI systems. **Desired Profile:** Strong software engineering experience, preferably with Python or a similar language; Proven track record of building production systems—not just prototypes; Practical experience with AI or machine learning systems—such as LLMs, classifiers, decision models, or similar; Experience integrating APIs and working with distributed systems; Experience designing prompts, retrieval pipelines, or machine learning inference workflows; Solid understanding of model evaluation, monitoring, and feedback loops; Comfort working with structured and unstructured data; Product- and outcome-oriented mindset—not just code delivery; Pragmatic approach to AI—with focus on what works in production; Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions based on trade\-offs. **Nice-to-Have:** Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, or Step Functions; Experience building internal tools or agents; Familiarity with regulated or enterprise environments; Experience with or exposure to MLOps or AI evaluation frameworks. **Offer:** Join a fast-growing technology company operating in a dynamic and rapidly evolving market; Opportunity to build a career in connected commerce and payments; Hybrid work model with three days per week in the office; An environment that values diversity and bases employment decisions on qualifications, merit, and business needs. **Diversity and Inclusion:** Planet is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering diversity.
