We are expanding our team and looking for people interested in joining us on this dream and being part of our continuous growth journey. **THE ROLE** We are seeking a proactive and qualified Automotive Workshop Manager to oversee operations at our in-house workshop in Lisbon. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating a team of mechanics, setting repair priorities, managing parts and inventory, maintaining budgetary control, and simultaneously ensuring high standards of quality and safety. **WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON?** **Team Management:** * Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a team of mechanics, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance evaluation; * Provide hands-on guidance and training to ensure technical skill development within the team and adherence to company standards; * Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. **Workshop Operations:** * Plan, prioritize, and supervise repair and maintenance tasks for campervans to minimize downtime; * Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards; * Serve as the primary point of contact for complex or escalated technical issues. **Inventory and Parts Management:** * Monitor stock levels of tools, replacement parts, and consumables, ensuring adequate availability for operations; * Coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely procurement and negotiate cost-efficient purchasing terms; * Maintain up-to-date inventory records and implement cost-control measures. **Budgeting and Reporting:** * Monitor and report on workshop performance metrics, including repair times and budget adherence; * Propose process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. **Safety and Compliance:** * Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations; * Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks. **WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR?** * Candidates with certified training in mechanics, mechatronics, or a similar automotive industry program; * Candidates with at least 10 years of proven workshop management experience; * Candidates with proven experience in mechanical repair and maintenance, preferably on campervans or similar vehicles; * Candidates with knowledge of inventory and spare parts management systems; * Candidates with experience managing budgets and delivering results-oriented outcomes; * Candidates with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills; * Candidates with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail; * Candidates fluent in Portuguese (mandatory) — English is a plus; * Candidates authorized to work in Portugal, holding a valid driver’s license and confidence driving a campervan (mandatory); * Candidates available to work weekends and public holidays. **THE INDIE COMMITMENT!** * Join a young, innovative, and rapidly growing company where you can truly make a difference; * Career development opportunities in Field Operations and the possibility to transition to our offices in Lisbon, Mexico City, or Manila; * Ongoing training and coaching to develop the competencies you value most; * A competitive compensation package including performance and referral bonuses; * Free road trips, so you can personally experience the Indie journey across Europe, North America, and Oceania. ***Are you ready to Go Indie?***
