Performance recognition and opportunities for career progression A public works company operating in the Algarve region for over 51 years seeks to hire a team leader with experience in constructing at least one of the following types of infrastructure: public water supply systems, sanitation (wastewater and stormwater), road and path paving, earthworks, excavations, and other similar works — to support site management across current and upcoming projects. The new employee will work in the Algarve region, aiming to ensure the construction of new infrastructure within budget, on schedule, with high quality, and in full compliance with safety and environmental requirements. Main responsibilities of the selected candidate: \- Plan and assign productive and useful daily tasks on-site to all workers under their supervision; \- Timely requisition of materials and equipment to ensure uninterrupted production without delays or loss of productivity; \- Ensure attendance and adherence to working hours for all assigned workers; \- Guarantee and enforce proper use of all machinery and equipment on-site, including cleaning, maintenance, and preservation; \- Ensure team productivity by motivating members and, whenever justified, promptly implementing corrective measures for any deviations; \- Monitor and ensure correct use of individual and collective protective equipment, as well as tidiness and organization of the construction site; \- Cultivate a mindset of responsibility, professionalism, commitment, quality, and results orientation throughout the team; Required profile: \- Experience in public works and infrastructure construction. Must possess knowledge for constructing at least one of the following infrastructures: water supply networks, sanitation networks (wastewater and stormwater), roads, paths and other pavements, embankments and cuttings, retaining walls; \- Leadership and organizational abilities, plus experience managing personnel assigned to construction projects; \- Knowledge of major construction techniques, methodologies, equipment, materials, and their respective application methods; \- Strong sense of responsibility; \- Proactivity and dynamism; \- Flexibility regarding working hours; \- Valid driver's license; Preferred qualifications (not mandatory): \- Experience operating machinery, especially rotating equipment, backhoe loaders, motor graders, and dump trucks (not mandatory); \- Residence nearby (not mandatory, as accommodation is available); \- Knowledge of reinforced concrete (non-eliminatory); \- Willingness and availability (mandatory) to attend training sessions aimed at enabling the new employee to read and interpret construction drawings, mark and align points, execute works to high standards, and operate optical levels and laser instruments.
