Respond to and address guest repair requests. Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance-related issues. Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen tools and equipment, as well as mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, or machinery. Transport equipment (e.g., tools, radios). Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility disconnect switches for buildings. Maintain a maintenance inventory and request parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to employees on other shifts using appropriate communication programs and protocols. Demonstrate basic knowledge or aptitude to acquire knowledge in the following areas: air conditioning and refrigeration, electricity, mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building operations. Prepare and paint surfaces; perform minor wallboard and woodwork repairs; replace light bulbs and air conditioner filters; and thoroughly clean painting or repair areas. Test, diagnose malfunctions, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., unclogging toilets and drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items. Program televisions and perform general engineering-related maintenance and inventory tasks. Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before performing maintenance work. Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, as well as exterior irrigation systems. Demonstrate basic computer operation skills, including entering air system scheduling data and adjusting temperature settings.
Comply with all company safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials appropriately. Ensure both uniform and personal appearance are neat and professional; maintain confidentiality of property information; and protect company assets. Greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and fulfill guest service needs; assist guests with disabilities; and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards. Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others; support the team in achieving common goals; and listen to and respond appropriately to concerns raised by other employees. Communicate with others using clear and professional language. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 50 pounds (4.5 kg) or less without assistance, as well as lift heavier weights or perform movement-intensive tasks unassisted. Climb stairs, service ramps, or ladders. Reach above shoulder height and below knee level, including bending, twisting the waist, pulling, and stooping. Enter and locate job-related information using computers. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate, or vocational/technical training certification preferred.
(General Educational Development, GED) or vocational/technical training certification.
Relevant Work Experience: Experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting.
Hotel engineering/maintenance experience is a plus.
Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience is not required.
