For our new Plant in Amarante, near Oporto, Portugal, we are looking for an Tooling Designer.
**MISSION**
– Developing tools as part of product or process projects, taking into account a working methodology based on the cost and reliability of the tools;
– Providing support for tool maintenance and participating in the continuous improvement of production tools.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE:**
– Autonomously developing tools (defining the need, defining and evaluating the concept, 3D design, assembly and detail design, assembly, participation in prototyping), through to qualified production, respecting the department’s work instructions in order to guarantee the expected performance of the process.
– Participating in the development of tools according to the R\&D department’s new project.
– Ensuring continuous improvement and maintenance of tools in production.
– Improving the instructions and tools associated with the tool development workflow.
– Supporting subsidiaries on the tooling axis and ensuring standardization of design and associated processes.
**THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING:**
– Professional experience in an industrial company (mechanical engineering or other technical environment)
– Knowledge of mechanical design in ProEngineer / CREO and ERP (SAP an advantage)
– Knowledge of mechanics (injection molding an advantage)
– Technical training: Technicien ES microtechnique or training deemed equivalent
– Ability to work in a small team and to collaborate proactively and constructively
– Fluent in English and Portuguese (mandatory)
– Ability to work in a team, good listening skills and an open mind
– Ability to communicate and collaborate proactively and constructively
