A company that values empathy and well-being Summary ANdAZ Lisbon is seeking a Laundry Operator to join the Pre-Opening team. Scheduled to open in Q4 2025, ANdAZ Lisbon will be the newest luxury "lifestyle" hotel in Portugal’s capital and represent a pivotal milestone in Hyatt’s continued expansion across Southern Europe — and its first managed hotel in Portugal. The Laundry Operator is responsible for the efficient and meticulous processing of all uniforms, guest linens, service cloths, mops, and scrubbers, ensuring cleanliness, quality, and preservation in accordance with luxury lifestyle segment standards. This role demands attention to detail, strict adherence to safety regulations and specific procedures, and consistent commitment to maintaining impeccable presentation and comfort for guests and colleagues. **Key Responsibilities:** * Maintain high standards of hygiene, organization, and quality within the laundry operation. * Receive, sort, and organize garments and textiles for washing according to type and degree of soiling. * Use personal protective equipment (PPE) whenever required. * Read and interpret garment care labels accurately, respecting the specific requirements of each item. * Provide support for sewing or minor repairs when necessary. * Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and timely service delivery. * Operate washing, drying, and related laundry equipment following technical instructions and hotel standards. * Use chemicals and detergents correctly and safely, complying with environmental and safety regulations. * Conduct visual inspections of items post-wash to identify stains, damages, or need for special treatment. * Operate washing, drying, and ironing machines in compliance with procedures and technical specifications. * Iron, fold, and prepare garments and uniforms for distribution, maintaining presentation and quality standards. * Monitor and control inventory levels of laundry supplies and request replenishment as needed. * Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe. * Record laundry processes and volumes processed in accordance with internal procedures. * Report equipment malfunctions, defects, or maintenance needs. * Collaborate with supervisory and maintenance teams to ensure operational efficiency and service quality. * Adhere to the hotel’s sustainability policies and responsible use of natural resources. Qualifications **Requirements:** * Completion of basic education. * Prior experience in industrial laundry or hospitality, preferably in luxury hotels or similar segments. * Basic knowledge of chemical products, laundry processes, and equipment maintenance. * Ability to operate laundry machinery and equipment. * Attention to detail and care for delicate fabrics. * Professional demeanor, responsibility, and commitment. * Availability to work rotating shifts and weekends. * Basic occupational safety awareness. * Organization and discipline; Proactivity and accountability; Attention to and care for details; Teamwork; Flexibility and adaptability; Focus on quality and efficiency.
