Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Financial Controller to professionalize and optimize the financial and operational management of a growing Group, taking responsibility for coordinating the Portuguese company’s finance activities. Stable and growing project with direct business impact We are a Group comprising two companies: one located in Spain, with an annual turnover of approximately €10 million and 80 employees; and another located in Portugal, with an annual turnover of approximately €2 million and 20 employees. We are currently undergoing a phase of growth and professionalization of our structure and seek to integrate into our team a dynamic, analytical, and business-oriented Financial Controller who will play a key role in professionalizing, supervising, improving, and optimizing the Group’s financial and operational management. Simultaneously, you will serve as the Finance Manager of the Portuguese company, assuming coordination and supervision of its financial and accounting activities. Role Objectives The primary objective of this role is to ensure and develop the Group’s financial control, contributing to the definition and supervision of budgetary control, detailed variance analysis, process optimization, and provision of relevant financial information for strategic decision-making. You must ensure application of best financial and accounting practices, guaranteeing compliance with applicable legislation and accounting standards, bearing in mind that both companies are subject to audit. Main Responsibilities * Cost control and margin analysis, identifying inefficiencies, improvement opportunities, and savings potential, collaborating with various departments in defining and implementing solutions. * Supervision of accounting and treasury functions, ensuring reliability of financial information, compliance with accounting and tax obligations, and optimization of cash flow. * Monitoring and control of the annual budget, analyzing monthly variances against budget and proposing corrective actions. * Profitability analysis by business line, customer, project, or product, identifying trends, variances, and improvement opportunities. * Design and implementation of a KPI dashboard, enabling Management to clearly and objectively monitor key financial and operational indicators. * Preparation of monthly financial reporting for Senior Management, including results analysis, variances, margins, costs, treasury, and key business indicators. * Supervision of monthly and annual accounting closings, ensuring quality and reliability of financial information. * Coordination with accountants, external consultants, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and public entities, ensuring efficient management across all financial and administrative areas. * Responsibility for the Portuguese company’s finance department, including treasury, cost control, accounting, taxation, and reporting. * Participation in digitalization and automation of processes, contributing to continuous improvement of information systems and ERP. * Development and implementation of internal control procedures, contributing to more efficient, rigorous, and professionalized financial management. Requirements * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE), Economics, Finance, or related field. A postgraduate degree or Master’s in Management Control / Finance is highly desirable. * Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar roles within SMEs or in financial auditing/consulting. At least 2 years’ experience in auditing. At least 2 years’ experience in an accounting department. At least 1 year’s experience as a Controller. * Technical Skills: o Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, data models, complex formulas). o Regular experience with ERP systems (Sage, Odoo, SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, etc.) and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.). o In-depth knowledge of local accounting standards. * Personal Skills: Analytical ability, business acumen, autonomy, leadership, proactivity, and attention to detail. * Languages: Very high level of Spanish and Portuguese; bilingual proficiency in both languages is preferred.
