Responsibilities: Our newest opportunity is for a **Project Engineer \- Waste Management** to join our award\-winning Sustainability and Environment Division based in **Lisbon, Portugal**. This role is responsible for support on Waste Management Policy and Strategy for projects across the Middle East and Europe and potentially further. We envisage success in this role to include: * Support the delivery of waste infrastructure projects across feasibility, design, procurement, construction and operational phases. * Undertake technical assessments of waste treatment technologies including thermal, mechanical, biological and chemical treatment processes. * Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, due diligence assessments, options appraisals and business cases. * Assist in the development of Basis of Design (BoD) documents, process descriptions, mass balances, technical specifications and performance requirements. * Review contractor and technology supplier submissions and provide technical recommendations. * Support waste characterisation studies, facility assessments, operational reviews and technology evaluations. * Assist in the development of procurement documentation including Employer's Requirements, technical schedules and tender evaluation criteria. * Support Project Managers in planning and delivering projects to programme, budget and quality requirements. * Coordinate multidisciplinary technical inputs from internal teams and external specialists. * Track project actions, risks, deliverables and programme activities. * Support client meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities. * Assist with the management of subcontractors and specialist technical advisors. * Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals. * Develop methodologies, work plans, programmes and resource schedules for bids. * Prepare project references, case studies and capability statements. * Contribute to market research and opportunity identification across target sectors and geographies. * Support client presentations and business development activities. * Maintain awareness of developments in waste treatment technologies, circular economy initiatives and regulatory requirements. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards, templates and best practices across the waste management team. * Support knowledge sharing and collaboration across KEO's international offices. Qualifications: To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 5 years' work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline. * Experience preparing technical reports and engineering studies. * Understanding of waste treatment and resource recovery technologies. * Experience supporting feasibility studies, due diligence assignments and infrastructure development projects. * Strong analytical and technical writing skills. * Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non\-technical audiences. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering calculation tools.
