We are looking for a professional who wants to contribute to the development of innovative solutions, working at the intersection of **Artificial Intelligence, software, data, and hardware**, in national and European R&D projects. **Job Description** The professional will join an R&D team, participating in the design, development, implementation, and validation of technological solutions based on **Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision**. Key responsibilities include: · Developing and implementing **Machine Learning** models, including deep neural networks; · Developing software for **Computer Vision** applications; · Collecting, processing, analyzing, and preparing data for model training, testing, and validation; · Evaluating model performance and generalization capability across different contexts; · Identifying issues related to model robustness and generalization, and developing strategies to mitigate them; · Integrating Artificial Intelligence solutions with software and hardware components; · Participating in the definition and implementation of technological solutions within R&D projects; · Collaborating on preparing applications for research and innovation projects; · Contributing to technical documentation and scientific article production; · Coordinating and mentoring, when required, small teams executing specific tasks or projects. **Profile** **We are looking for a professional with:** · A university degree in **Electrical and Computer Engineering** or a related field; · Preferably, **at least 5 years of professional experience** in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Computer Vision; · Experience in developing and implementing technological solutions in research or innovation contexts; · Interest in working on projects that integrate research, software development, and technological application; · Interest and experience in data collection, processing, and analysis; · Interest or experience in hardware solution development and integration. **Technical Skills** **The following are considered important:** · Strong programming skills in **Python**; · Experience with **PyTorch**; · Experience with **OpenCV**; · Experience with **Pandas**; · Experience in creating, training, evaluating, and validating Machine Learning models; · Knowledge of **deep neural networks / Deep Learning**; · Knowledge of model generalization, robustness, and evaluation; · Experience in dataset preparation and processing; · Experience integrating software and hardware solutions. **The following will be valued:** · Programming knowledge in **C++ and/or C#**; · Experience in preparing **applications for research and innovation projects**; · Experience in producing and publishing **scientific articles**. **Personal Skills** We seek someone with: · Scientific curiosity and interest in technological innovation; · Ability to work independently; · Analytical ability, problem identification, and resolution skills; · Sense of responsibility and initiative; · Strong organizational, planning, and task management skills; · Ability to adapt to diverse technological challenges and contexts; · Collaborative spirit and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams; · Ability to coordinate and mentor small teams, when required; · Motivation to learn and keep pace with technological advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. **What We Offer** · Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience and demonstrated profile (€2,000–€2,500 gross per month); · Health insurance; · Birthday day off; · Flexible working hours (36 hours/week); · Integration into a nationally recognized **Research and Development** institution; · Participation in national and European technological projects; · Exposure to emerging technologies and real-world application challenges; · Autonomy and active participation in solution development; · Career growth and professional development prospects; · A dynamic, collaborative, and innovation-oriented work environment. **Applications** · Please send your CV to **drh@inov.pt**, with the subject line “**R&D Engineer**”.
