Execution of elementary support tasks essential to the operation of agencies and services, which may involve physical effort. Responsibility for equipment under the employee’s custody and for its proper use, including maintenance and repair when necessary (Annex to Law No. 12-A/2008 of 27 February: Characterization of General Careers – Operational Assistant Career, Operational Assistant Category). Promotion of preventive silviculture actions (brush clearing, stand cleaning, maintenance and improvement of divisional networks, firebreak lines, construction and improvement of infrastructure (water points, watchtowers, leisure parks, etc.), pruning and branch removal; repair of forest roads inside stands or providing access to them; compartmentalization of stands through planting of suitable species, particularly those exhibiting greater resistance to fire spread; Promotion of awareness-raising actions (demonstrations of good practices in fire use, demonstrations of correct implementation of specific preventive silviculture practices, distribution of informative leaflets regarding the need for landowners to clear their woodlands and precautions required when using fire during the period of highest wildfire risk); promotion of surveillance actions, first intervention, firefighting support, post-fire mopping-up and post-fire surveillance. Ensuring all actions necessary for the proper functioning of services requiring the employee’s cooperation; and performing any other functions, procedures, tasks or responsibilities assigned by law, by the Regulation on the Organization of Municipal Services, resolutions, orders or higher-level instructions.
