If you seek a collaborative, dynamic environment full of opportunities to challenge and surpass yourself, your next challenge may be with us! **Who are we looking for?** Senior Java Developer **Main Responsibilities:** * Develop and maintain microservices, APIs, and business logic in Java using Spring Boot, adhering to software development best practices. This development must align with and be oriented toward cloud-native and cloud-agnostic technologies, and continuously undergo optimization, monitoring, and performance improvement—considering data volume and inherent resilience and latency requirements; * Write unit, integration, and contract tests; support the QA team in test automation; * Participate in technical solution design with architects, aligned with the defined architecture; * Collaborate with teams (architecture, QA, SRE, security, business) during refinement sessions, planning meetings, and code reviews—ensuring secure and observable code from inception (logs, tracing, metrics); * Contribute to technical documentation (services, APIs, key technical decisions); * Analyze incidents/issues in development and QA/certification environments, and act as third-line support for incident analysis and resolution. **Mandatory Technical Skills and Knowledge:** * Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with Java, including concurrency concepts and memory management; * Experience with Spring Boot, preferably across the broader Spring Boot ecosystem (e.g., Spring Cloud and other Spring projects); * Understanding of distributed architecture, communication patterns (synchronous vs. asynchronous), REST APIs, and fault handling (retries, circuit breakers, fallbacks, idempotency, etc.); * Knowledge of geo-distributed and/or relational and/or NoSQL databases; * Experience with modern development practices (Git, CI/CD, DevSecOps, code review practices, testing tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers). **Desirable Technical Skills and Knowledge:** * Experience in cloud-native contexts (containers, Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, 12-factor apps) and high-throughput, low-latency systems; * Knowledge of distributed and event-driven architectures; * Familiarity with geo-distributed databases, NoSQL, and NewSQL (e.g., MongoDB, CockroachDB); * Experience in legacy system migration projects to cloud-native platforms; * Experience with observability (centralized logging, metrics, distributed tracing) and SRE; * Prior experience in payment solutions, instant payments, or mission-critical financial systems; * Knowledge of payment industry standards and formats (e.g., ISO 20022, SEPA Instant). **Work Model:** Hybrid (3 days per week at the office in **VISEU**).
