In addition to this functional content, the following tasks are also expected: Cultivates flowers, trees or other plants and seeds lawns in parks or public gardens, being responsible for all operations inherent to the normal development of crops and their maintenance and conservation, such as prior land preparation, cleaning, irrigation, application of appropriate phytosanitary treatments, and protection against adverse weather conditions; cleans and maintains roadsides and flowerbeds; for prior land preparation, digs or opens holes, replaces poor soil with arable soil, and applies manure, fertilizers and/or soil amendments when necessary; specifically for lawns, spreads and buries seeds, levels the ground, and subsequently compacts and trims the grass; to ensure subsequent land treatment aimed at guaranteeing normal plant growth, the gardener weeds, thins, fertilizes, irrigates (automatically or manually), and, when necessary, prunes and applies herbicides or pesticides; where plant nurseries exist, carries out cultivation of seeds, bulbs, rootstocks, shrubs, trees and flowers, either outdoors or in greenhouses, for propagation purposes, preparing nurseries, staking them, fertilizing them and adequately arranging them; likewise carries out seeding, planting, transplanting, grafting, irrigation, protection against inclement weather and phytosanitary treatments, and may occasionally conduct trials to develop new plant varieties; operates various tools required for gardening tasks, which may be manual (pruning shears, loppers, saws, spades, pickaxes, hoes and others) or mechanical (lawn mowers and trimmers, irrigation motors, sprinklers, chainsaws, mechanical brush cutters, aerators and others); is responsible for cleaning, tuning and lubricating mechanical equipment; performs minor repairs and, in case of major breakdowns, arranges for equipment repair. **Workplace** **Number of Positions** **Address** **Locality** **Postal Code** **District** **Municipality** Vila Real Municipal Council 2 Av.
