Acer Aspire 5742 (touchpad and some keys do not work)

Acer Aspire 5742 CPU: Intel Core i3 M 380 at 2.53GHz RAM: 4GB HDD: 500GB Display: 15.6" at 1366x768 OS: Windows 10 Home (upgraded from Windows 7) The laptop has a robust chassis and is in good condition without cracks. It only shows minor aesthetic wear in some areas due to normal use. Although it uses a mechanical hard drive, it performs relatively quickly; however, it is an excellent candidate for an SSD upgrade. Issues: -Touchpad and its buttons do not work; -On the keyboard, some keys do not respond, including ESC, F5, F6, F7, F9, F10, and F11. All other keys function well and without any effort, making it otherwise a good keyboard if functionality can be restored. -The battery is faulty and the computer does not operate with it installed. The battery is included with the unit for reference purposes, should it be needed. I am available to answer any questions.
