The Casa da Música Foundation is recruiting a **Sound Technician (m/f/d)** with strong responsibility, teamwork ability, and technical-artistic sensitivity to join its Integrated Production Management team.
This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with one of the country’s most prestigious cultural institutions, contributing to the technical excellence of concerts, performances, and nationally and internationally renowned events.
**Location:** Porto, Portugal
**Employment Type:** Full-time | On-site | Rotating shifts
**Main Responsibilities:**
* Ensure operation of audio capture, processing, reproduction, and recording systems for concerts, performances, and events;
* Prepare, set up, configure, and dismantle sound equipment and systems, adapting them to each production’s technical requirements;
* Conduct rehearsals, tests, and technical checks to ensure audio system quality and reliability;
* Operate mixing consoles, recording systems, and signal processing equipment during rehearsals and performances;
* Collaborate on live, studio, and recording-context audio capture and monitoring;
* Support external productions by providing technical assistance and coordinating with external technical-artistic teams and operators;
* Produce and organize technical documentation supporting production planning and archiving (diagrams, floor plans, technical specifications);
* Participate in maintenance, organization, and preservation of equipment and technical spaces, ensuring appropriate operational conditions;
* Contribute to developing and implementing technical solutions that promote continuous improvement of processes and the experience of artists, audiences, and partners.
**Required Profile:**
* Intermediate-level technical and musical education, preferably higher education in Music Technologies;
* Solid knowledge of acoustics, audio systems, sound recording, signal processing, and mixing consoles;
* Minimum two years’ professional experience within the last five years, with emphasis on sound reinforcement and audio system operation for performances, concerts, and events;
* Availability for rotating shifts, including shift work and weekends;
* Ability to integrate easily into multidisciplinary teams and highly demanding technical environments.
**Also Valued:**
* Knowledge of audio recording and editing;
* Musical instrument study and performance experience as an instrumentalist;
* Experience in performing arts contexts and cultural production;
* English language proficiency (technical level);
* Basic knowledge of stage lighting, stage machinery, or IT networks applied to live performance;
* Problem-solving ability and adaptability to dynamic working environments.
