




Six Senses is recruiting a Commis Chef to join our award-winning team in the Douro Valley! We are looking for an experienced Commis Chef seeking a new challenge and passionate not only about working with wines and local products, but also about doing so sustainably. Below are some of the tasks you will carry out daily: * Prevent food spoilage through daily inspections and ensure all incoming and outgoing food items meet property-established standards. * Ensure all training conducted on preparation standards, hygiene, and food safety is communicated, understood, and followed by subordinates. * Inspect the quality of raw materials in the designated area, as well as their storage, handling, and usage. * Produce all required food items according to standards and within timely deadlines, within the designated section. * Maintain consistent quality and demonstrate continuous efforts to improve products produced in the designated area. * Prepare all mise en place and meet with the Chef de Partie/Sub-Chef to plan daily food and beverage activities. * Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of served products. * Know and consistently adhere to standard portion sizes, preparation methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules and guidelines. * Stock and maintain sufficient food supplies at service stations to ensure smooth service periods. * Follow proper plating presentation and side dish arrangement for all dishes. * Know and comply consistently with all safety and emergency procedures related to your role, in accordance with brand and legal requirements.
