Located in the heart of vibrant Lisbon's Baixa district, along the city's main pedestrian thoroughfare—Rua Augusta—the hotel spans five distinct buildings, including the former headquarters of one of Portugal's leading banks, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). We are seeking a talented, detail-oriented professional to join our team. The Laundry Operator is responsible for the efficient and careful processing of staff uniforms, guest linens, operational textiles, and other materials, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, quality, and preservation aligned with the luxury lifestyle segment. Additionally, sewing skills are highly valued to support minor repairs and maintenance of garments, ensuring impeccable finishes and extending material longevity. **Key Responsibilities:** * Maintain high standards of hygiene, organization, and quality in laundry services; * Receive, sort, and organize garments and textiles by type and degree of soiling; * Accurately interpret fabric care labels and specific textile requirements; * Operate washing, drying, and ironing equipment according to technical procedures; * Use chemical products safely and responsibly; * Conduct visual inspections to identify stains, damage, or special handling needs; * Iron, fold, and prepare items for distribution; * Perform minor sewing and repair tasks (e.g., adjustments, button replacement, hems, minor tears). * Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficiency and timeliness; * Monitor inventory levels and report replenishment needs; * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; * Record volumes and workflow processes; * Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance requirements; * Comply with safety regulations, PPE usage, and environmental policies; * Contribute to sustainable practices and mindful resource use. **Qualifications** ------------------ * Minimum required level of education; * Experience in industrial laundry or hospitality (preferably in luxury hotels); * Basic knowledge of chemical products and laundry processes; * Ability to operate laundry equipment; * Basic to intermediate sewing skills (preferred); * Attention to detail and care for delicate fabrics; * Sense of responsibility and professionalism; * Availability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays; * Basic understanding of occupational safety; * Team spirit, proactivity, and organizational skills; * Flexibility and quality focus.
