Tasks to be performed include: * Literature review on thermal insulation coatings and multifunctional surface protection products; * Experimental evaluation of performance and compatibility of various multifunctional protective coating solutions applied on different substrates; * Collaboration in experimental and numerical assessment of climate change impacts on the performance and durability of façades coated with multifunctional protective products; * Experimental evaluation of the durability of the studied solutions considering different degradation agents and mechanisms; * Collaboration in monitoring the hygrothermal behaviour of reduced-scale models exposed to natural ageing; * Collaboration in preparing project reports and scientific articles for dissemination of results obtained. 9 \- Place of Work Host Institution: LNEC – National Laboratory for Civil Engineering, I.P. Avenida do Brasil, 101 – 1700\-066 Lisbon Country: Portugal Website: https://www.lnec.pt Contact email: recrutamento@lnec.pt Activities under this grant will be conducted at the Coatings and Insulation Unit of the Buildings Department (NRI/DED) of LNEC, without prejudice to temporary travel within the country, notably to Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in Lisbon, a partner institution in the project. 10 \- Candidate Profile Eligible candidates are Master’s degree holders in Civil Engineering or related fields: * enrolled in a doctoral programme in Civil Engineering or related fields; * enrolled in a non-degree programme. Candidates must demonstrate capacity to work in multidisciplinary teams, motivation and experience in the activities described in section 9, fluency in Portuguese, and good command of English. 11 – Scientific Supervision Scientific supervision of the activities will be provided by Dr. Maria do Rosário Veiga, Coordinator Researcher at NRI/DED, LNEC. The grant holder will also receive co-supervision from Prof. Inês Flores\-Colen, Full Professor at IST. 12 \- Monthly Maintenance Allowance The grant includes a monthly maintenance allowance amounting to € 1 309,64\. The grant holder will also benefit from a specific social security scheme and personal accident insurance covering activities carried out under the grant. 13 – Selection Methods and Criteria Applications will be evaluated based on the Candidate’s Merit (MC), applying the following evaluation criteria scored on a scale of 0 to 20 points. Candidate’s Merit: * Academic Record (AR) – reflecting grades awarded for academic degrees required for this call, particularly the Master’s degree – 50%; * Professional Curriculum (PC) – reflecting scientific and professional background – 30%; * Selection Interview (SI) – 20%. Whereby: MC \= (0.5 \* AR) \+ (0.3 \* PC) \+ (0.2 \* SI) The jury may decide not to award the grant if candidate quality falls below the required standard. 14 – Selection Jury Composition Chairperson: Maria do Rosário Veiga, Coordinator Researcher Full Members: Luís Cordeiro Matias, Principal Researcher; João Luís Parracha, Assistant Researcher Alternate Member: Helena Ramos da Silva, Assistant Researcher 15 – Required Documents 1\. At application stage: * Motivation letter (maximum: one A4 page). * Certificate confirming the academic degree held, indicating partial and final grades. * Official document certifying the grade obtained in each course unit of the current programme. Foreign certificates are only valid if accompanied by their official recognition record or, alternatively, by a document recognising/equating foreign qualifications to the corresponding Portuguese qualifications. Grades may only be used if officially converted into the Portuguese grading scale (by DGES or a public higher education institution), even if the foreign scale ranges from 0 to 20. * Official document certifying enrolment in the degree programme specified in point 10 of this notice. If the candidate cannot obtain this document due to reasons beyond their control, they may submit a sworn statement attesting enrolment and committing to provide the document upon contract signing. * Detailed Curriculum Vitae. * Additional documents (optional), such as letters of recommendation and documents certifying internships or complementary courses deemed relevant to the activities foreseen under the grant. 2\.
