Continuous improvement of a satellite-based continuous deployment platform ### **Role Overview** An opportunity is available for a VMware/Database Specialist to support technical projects within engineering and development environments. The role focuses on enabling development and release cycles through the operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of virtualized laboratory and deployment platforms. The position includes responsibility for an internally developed, satellite\-based continuous deployment platform used to automatically provision, manage, and standardize laboratory environments across development, testing, and acceptance phases. In addition, the role contributes to the ongoing evolution of a central VMware laboratory infrastructure, supporting OSS fulfilment and development\-related activities. ### **Key Responsibilities** * Plan and coordinate the technical integration of systems and platforms * Design, configure, and provision development and test environments * Operate and monitor environments throughout development, hardening, and acceptance phases * Provide hands\-on support for troubleshooting, root\-cause analysis, and testing activities * Operate and continuously enhance the internal continuous deployment platform * Administer and further develop the central VMware laboratory environment, including backup solutions * Support virtualization initiatives for existing platforms as part of regular release cycles * Assist in the implementation of new security requirements across engineering lab and VMware infrastructures * Coordinate and support database migration and transfer activities ### **Required Skills \& Qualifications** * Strong experience with VMware environments and virtualization technologies * Practical knowledge of database administration and migration processes * Experience operating development, test, and laboratory environments * Familiarity with continuous deployment platforms and environment automation * Strong troubleshooting skills in complex, distributed environments * Knowledge of security principles applied to virtualization infrastructures * Experience working in technical coordination roles and interfacing with engineering teams * Solid understanding of release management processes and software development lifecycles * Structured and reliable working style in project\-oriented environments **If you got this far you are committed!
