**Job Description:**The generic functional content of general careers in the Public Administration is described in the annex to Law No. 35/2014, of 20 June, referred to in paragraph 2 of Article 88 thereof, corresponding to functional complexity levels 3, 2 and 1, respectively, for the careers and categories of Senior Technician, Technical Assistant or Operational Assistant, and is complemented by the following functional description:
Reference J – Senior Technician – Forestry Engineering Area – Civil Protection Office and Forestry Technical Office – must comply with procedures defined in applicable legislation or regulations and at the municipal level; analyze and respond to citizen complaints, grievances and suggestions; support and provide information regarding forest support instruments; promote policies and actions for the control and eradication of biotic agents and defense against abiotic agents; participate in the Sub-Regional Commission for Integrated Rural Fire Management of the Aveiro Region and related projects/activities; support the municipal commission for integrated rural fire management; develop and update planning activities, particularly within the Integrated Rural Fire Management System (e.g., the Aveiro Sub-Regional Program); monitor fuel management works in accordance with legal provisions; promote implementation of fuel management strips under the municipality’s competence; provide technical support for construction of rural roads and validation of operational capacity of water point networks; develop forestry projects and funding applications and manage disbursement of funds; issue opinions on construction requests in rural land; issue opinions on soil mobilization processes and afforestation/reforestation actions (legal framework applicable to afforestation and reforestation), managing the electronic platform of the RJAAR Information System (SIICNF – RJAAR); issue opinions on fire use (continuous assessment and response via the “SGIF – Burning and Controlled Burning” platforms); issue opinions on pyrotechnic device launches and fuel management around buildings as established under the Integrated Rural Fire Management System; promote and monitor awareness and outreach activities for diverse audiences; conduct burnt area surveys and upload data to the electronic platform; analyze and interpret thematic cartography in a GIS environment as a decision-support tool; possess technical expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software (ArcGIS and QGIS) and in field data collection using Positioning Systems (GPS).
