




Six Senses is recruiting a Commis Chef to join our award-winning team in the Douro Valley! We are seeking an experienced Commis Chef who is looking for a new challenge and is passionate not only about working with wines and local produce but also about doing so sustainably. Below are some of the tasks you will carry out on a daily basis: * Prevent food spoilage through daily inspections and ensure all incoming and outgoing food items comply with property-established standards. * Ensure all training conducted on preparation standards, hygiene, and food safety is effectively communicated, understood, and followed by subordinates. * Inspect the quality of raw materials within the designated area, as well as their storage, handling, and usage. * Produce all required food items according to established standards and within specified timeframes, within the designated section. * Maintain consistent quality and demonstrate continuous efforts to improve products produced in the designated area. * Prepare all mise en place and meet with the Chef de Partie/Sub-Chef to plan daily food and beverage operations. * Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of served products. * Know and consistently adhere to standard portion sizes, preparation methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules and guidelines. * Stock and maintain sufficient food supplies at service stations to ensure smooth service periods. * Follow proper plating presentation and side dish arrangement for all dishes. * Be fully aware of and consistently comply with all safety and emergency procedures related to your role, in accordance with brand standards and legal requirements.
