As we prepare for opening, we are now looking for an **Engineering Supervisor** to join our Engineering team and help bring this exciting new property to life. **Your Role** As our **Engineering Supervisor**, you will be the day\-to\-day operational leader of the Engineering department, supporting our Director of Engineering in maintaining every aspect of the hotel to the highest standards. You will lead a team of Shift Engineers and Maintenance Assistants, ensuring preventative maintenance programmes, reactive repairs and engineering projects are delivered efficiently, safely and with minimal disruption to our guests and colleagues. This is a hands\-on leadership role where no two days are the same. From coordinating maintenance activities across guest rooms, public areas, back\-of\-house spaces, plant rooms and leisure facilities, to troubleshooting technical issues and supporting refurbishment projects, you will play a key role in keeping our hotel operating at its very best. You will supervise daily engineering operations, allocate workloads, monitor maintenance requests through our hotel management systems and ensure work is completed to Standard expectations. You'll also support inventory management, contractor coordination, purchasing activities and departmental reporting, while helping the Director of Engineering manage budgets and operational priorities. Beyond the technical aspects of the role, you'll be a coach and mentor to your team. You'll lead daily briefings, support recruitment and onboarding, encourage professional development and foster a culture built around teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement. In the Director of Engineering's absence, you will confidently lead the department and ensure engineering operations continue to run smoothly. You'll thrive in a fast\-paced environment, enjoy leading by example and be passionate about maintaining exceptional standards while supporting and developing those around you. **Ideally you will have:** * Previous supervisory experience within hotel engineering, facilities management or a similar maintenance environment * Previous experience working with swimming pool and spa plant, systems and facilities would be an advantage. * Strong technical knowledge across building services, mechanical and electrical systems, and general hotel maintenance * A hands\-on approach with excellent problem\-solving and fault\-finding skills * Experience coordinating preventative maintenance programmes and reactive maintenance activities * The ability to lead, motivate and develop a small engineering team * Good understanding of Health \& Safety, Fire Safety and building compliance requirements * Experience managing contractors, suppliers and maintenance service providers * Strong organisational, administration and IT skills, ideally including experience using maintenance management systems * Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across all hotel departments * A proactive, positive and solutions\-focused approach with exceptional attention to detail * Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, when operationally required * Fluency in English is essential, with Portuguese highly desirable **Pre\-opening hotel experience would be an advantage, but above all we're looking for someone who enjoys building teams, solving problems and helping create exceptional hospitality experiences.** If you think you have what it takes to become our Engineering Supervisor at The Standard, Lisbon, we'd love to hear from you.
