Description

**THE FINDING SAFE COMMUNITY AND FRIENDS AFTER NARCISSISTIC ABUSE WORKSHOP** Do you find it hard to trust people after narcissistic abuse? Did you notice that many of your friends have narcissistic traits after discovering what narcissism and complex trauma was? Do you have a hard time opening up to people because you were ostracized or victimized by the people who were supposed to love and support you in the past? Do you feel lonely and isolated but don't know how or where to connect with people? Do you suffer with social anxiety? Do you have a difficult time making friends? If so, you are amongst good company in this group. Many of us report 'yes' to one or more of the questions above and as a result, we commonly get asked what is the best way to make new, safe friends and establish community after getting out of an abusive situation. Our two hour workshop will explore why people suffering from Complex Trauma have difficulty making friends, struggle with having toxic friends and have boundary issues with the people surrounding them. Using concrete suggestions, studies and examples, we will explore as a group the best ways to start finding safe people to surround ourselves with moving forward. According to the Mayo Clinic, having friends can: * Raise your sense of connection, belonging and purpose. * Boost your happiness and lower your stress. * Improve your self-confidence and feelings of self-worth. * Help you cope through hard times, such as divorce, serious illness, job loss or the death of a loved one. * Urge you to change or avoid habits that aren't healthy. These might include drinking too much or not exercising. Let's talk about this and have a intimate and important discussion as to what you can do to establish a safe, healthy non toxic community of chosen family while maintaining safe boundaries and paying careful attention to our needs and wants while doing so. **COST:** This is a one time workshop which costs $20.00 per person and includes study material that will be provided post-workshop. You do not have to be an established member to join.
