We’re looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong architectural background to lead multiple squads and help scale how we design, build, and deliver software at Universo. You will be responsible for ensuring teams deliver consistently, while also supporting technical decisions, system design, and engineering practices across squads. This is a hands\-on leadership role combining people management, architecture, and execution. Key Responsibilities Lead and support multiple squads, ensuring consistent and reliable delivery Work with tech leads and architects on system design and technical decisions Help teams build scalable and resilient services on Azure Drive engineering excellence across CI/CD, test engineering, and developer experience Improve how teams build and ship software (standards, frameworks, workflows) Coach and develop engineers and tech leads If you have A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Experience leading engineering teams or multiple squads A strong background in system design and cloud environments (Azure preferred) Experience with Azure\-native architectures, microservices, and event\-driven systems Experience working with .NET, React, and React Native Experience improving engineering practices and driving consistency across teams A hands\-on mindset and the ability to go deep when needed Experience working in environments where engineering teams own CI/CD If you are Comfortable balancing delivery, technical quality, and team wellbeing Motivated by a mix of greenfield development and platform evolution Collaborative, pragmatic, and focused on continuous improvement What we offer A competitive compensation package and relevant benefits Flextime and a hybrid working model, with three days in the office (Lisbon or Maia) and two from home, enabling a better work\-life balance.
