Position: Farmer Development Specialist (m/f)
Location: Vale de Cambra, Portugal
EOConsulting is seeking a Farmer Development Specialist to join a challenging project within a leading company in the dairy sector. This is a unique opportunity for those aspiring to be part of an innovative, dynamic environment with direct impact on the sustainable development of milk production in Portugal.
What will you do?
* Be responsible for monitoring and supporting dairy farmers, promoting efficient and sustainable agricultural/animal practices.
* Implement and monitor the dairy farmers’ development plan;
* Provide technical and operational support to farmers, promoting continuous improvement;
* Collaborate in defining strategies with management teams;
* Directly support the Procurement Director in tasks related to the network of producers;
* Promote and implement good environmental, hygiene, and occupational safety practices;
* Monitor operational indicators and take action whenever necessary;
* Actively participate in continuous improvement teams within the BMM framework;
* Compliance with Hygiene Plans, critical control points, and current Hygiene and Safety measures.
What are we looking for?
* Higher education degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering;
* Practical knowledge in crop and agricultural/animal production, animal science, and environmental sustainability;
* Experience in soil or animal analysis and agricultural productivity management;
* Technical expertise in plant nutrition, phytosanitary management, and precision agriculture;
* Strong communication skills and results orientation;
* Experience in managing agricultural or animal projects;
* Solid knowledge of computer systems (Excel is mandatory);
* Technical English (basic or intermediate level);
* Valid driver’s license.
