His agency, The John Jarrold Literary Agency, specialises in science fiction, fantasy, and horror novels for the adult market, and currently represents over forty authors. Before founding his agency, John held senior editorial positions across major publishing houses, including Senior Fiction Editor at Simon & Schuster, Editorial Director of Legend Books at Random House, and Director of Orbit Books. Throughout his career, he has worked with some of the biggest names in speculative fiction, including Iain Banks, Ken MacLeod, Guy Gavriel Kay, and Robert Holdstock. This session offers a rare opportunity to hear insights from one of the most experienced figures in genre publishing, from what agents look for in submissions to the evolving landscape of speculative fiction.
