Within the scope of their duties, the forest firefighter shall perform the following activities: preventive forestry, notably forest fuel management, using manual, motorized, mechanical or controlled-burn techniques, among others; Maintenance and protection of forest stands, promoting forest management and control of harmful biotic agents; General forestry activities; Installation, maintenance and improvement of forest defense and rural management support infrastructure; Public awareness raising; Surveillance, initial intervention and support in combating rural fires, support in mopping-up operations and active post-mopping surveillance; Emergency stabilization actions promoting recovery of productive potential; Performance of other functions functionally related and compatible with the career and category.
