In addition to these functional responsibilities, the following tasks are also expected: Cultivates flowers, trees, or other plants and seeds lawns in public parks or gardens, assuming responsibility for all operations essential to the normal development, maintenance, and conservation of crops, such as prior soil preparation, cleaning, irrigation, application of appropriate phytosanitary treatments, and protection against adverse weather conditions; carries out cleaning and conservation of streets and flowerbeds; for prior soil preparation, digs or opens holes, replaces poor soil with arable soil, and applies manure, fertilizers, and/or soil amendments when necessary; specifically for lawns, spreads and buries seeds, levels the ground, and subsequently compacts and trims the grass; to ensure subsequent soil treatment supporting normal plant growth, the gardener weeds, thins, fertilizes, irrigates (automatically or manually), and, when required, prunes and applies herbicides or pesticides; where plant nurseries exist, conducts seed, bulb, rootstock, shrub, tree, and flower cultivation outdoors or in greenhouses for propagation, preparing, staking, fertilizing, and appropriately arranging the nurseries; likewise performs sowing, planting, transplanting, grafting, irrigation, protection against adverse weather, and phytosanitary treatments, and may occasionally conduct trials to develop new plant varieties; operates various tools required for gardening tasks, which may be manual (pruning shears, loppers, saws, spades, pickaxes, hoes, etc.) or mechanical (lawn mowers and trimmers, irrigation motors, sprinklers, chainsaws, mechanical brush cutters, aerators, etc.); is responsible for cleaning, tuning, and lubricating mechanical equipment; performs minor repairs and arranges for major repairs when equipment malfunctions occur. **Workplace** **Number of Positions** **Address** **Locality** **Postal Code** **District** **Municipality** Vila Real Municipal Council 2 Av.
