Besides being a pilgrimage site to the Chapel of Our Lady of Piety and the hermitages, the entire "Burgo" — especially the schist-built Castle of Arouce — guides visitors through the history of the municipality. Below the castle lies the riverside beach, offering excellent use of the waters of the Ribeira de São João for bathing. It holds the "Blue Flag" award, developed by the Blue Flag Association of Europe (ABAE) with technical support from the Portuguese Environment Agency. .Trevim Swing: built by the "This is Lousã" project, this swing is located at Alto de Trevim, the highest point of the Serra da Lousã. At an altitude of 1,200 meters, the giant wooden swing is the ideal spot for taking original Instagram photographs.
