Execution of elementary support tasks essential to the functioning of departments and services, which may involve physical effort. Responsibility for equipment entrusted to the employee and for its correct use, including performing maintenance and repairs when necessary (Annex to Law No. 12-A/2008 of 27 February, describing General Careers – Operational Assistant career, Operational Assistant category). Promote preventive forestry actions (brush clearing, stand cleaning, maintenance and improvement of divisional road networks, firebreak lines, construction and improvement of infrastructure (water points, watchtowers, leisure parks, etc.), pruning and branch removal; repair of forest roads inside stands or providing access to them; compartmentalization of stands through planting suitable species, particularly those exhibiting greater resistance to fire spread; Promote awareness-raising actions (demonstrations of good practices in fire use, demonstrations of proper execution of specific preventive forestry practices, distribution of informational leaflets on the need for landowners to clear their woodlands and on precautions required when using fire during periods of highest wildfire risk); promote surveillance actions, first intervention, firefighting support, post-fire mopping-up and post-fire surveillance.
