Job Summary: The Advanced Technical Support Technician is responsible for supporting machine and process ramp-up, performing analyses, defining setpoints, and implementing improvements to optimize KPIs. Specialized technical support during FAT/SAT phases. **Location:**Felgueiras, PT Felgueiras, Felgueiras, PT **Job Family:** Manufacturing **Country/Region:** Portugal The **Advanced Technical Support Technician (Ramp\-up Technician)** is responsible for supporting the ramp\-up phase of production machines and processes. This includes conducting failure analyses, defining machine setpoints, and implementing improvements to optimize performance indicators (KPIs). In addition, the role involves supporting the Ramp\-up Engineer in preparing supplier failure reports, installing components, training production teams, and participating in key activities such as FAT and SAT. The Ramp\-up Technician also collects and analyzes technical information from suppliers to identify potential improvements and supports the Ramp\-up Engineer throughout the entire project lifecycle, working collaboratively within a team. **Areas of Responsibility:** **Ramp Up:** * Problem Resolution and Analysis: Diagnoses and resolves advanced machine failures, identifying key improvement opportunities to optimize machine performance and ergonomics. * Strategic Problem Resolution: Conducts in-depth analyses of complex issues and collaborates on developing mechanisms to improve machine ergonomics, efficiency, and capacity. * Component and Technology Knowledge: Demonstrates advanced knowledge of machine components and technologies, translating this expertise into comprehensive training for technical and operational teams. * Process Leadership: Leads machine setup, adjustments, advanced changeovers, and troubleshooting, ensuring smooth operational integration. * FAT/SAT: Provides specialized technical support during FAT and SAT phases, ensuring alignment with project requirements and operational objectives. * Advanced Training: Designs and delivers advanced training programs for technical teams, focusing on machine advanced functionalities, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques. * Technical Support and PLC (First Line): Acts as the primary contact point for advanced PLC troubleshooting, electrical and mechanical issues, proposing program modifications or adjustments when necessary. * Maintenance Routine Coordination: Coordinates maintenance routines (when required), ensuring efficiency and compliance with operational requirements. **Technical Knowledge:** * Demonstrates experience with pneumatic and vacuum systems across various technologies (e.g., Festo). * Interprets single-line diagrams and possesses basic PC Schematics Viewer skills for reading electrical schematics. Identifies and resolves electrical supply issues on machines, proposing and coordinating improvement actions. * Interprets mechanical drawings and demonstrates intermediate-level proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Inventor (or similar software). Identifies and resolves mechanical alignment and leveling issues, performing precise verifications and implementing corrections. * Skills in sensor configuration and parameterization, ensuring optimal operation. * Diagnoses issues in vision systems (a valued competency). **Essential Qualifications:** * Technical education in mechanics, electrotechnology, or related fields. * More than 4 years of experience in technical roles, preferably in environments involving automated machinery. * Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in HMI and PLC systems. * Experience in machine installation, maintenance, and process improvement. * Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation. * Strong problem-solving capability. * Experience installing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components. * High attention to detail in recording changes, troubleshooting, and training materials. * Ability to identify potential problems and act proactively. * Strong teamwork and communication skills. * Adaptability to dynamic project requirements and production demands. * Commitment to adhering to Quality Assurance (QA) and EHS standards. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Communicative English proficiency (B2\+ according to CEFR). * Familiarity with PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Omron, or Siemens. * Knowledge of machine ramp\-up processes, particularly in regulated industries. * Experience optimizing processes to improve output and operator ergonomics. * Participation in FAT and SAT for equipment validation. * Ability to train and guide team members. **Other Requirements:** * Perform tasks requiring physical lifting up to 25 kg. * Attend supplier trainings to acquire in-depth knowledge of new machines. * Availability for recurring travel throughout the year (up to 45 days). *Pursuing an ambitious growth agenda, Coloplast develops and markets products and services that make life easier for people with intimate healthcare needs.
