"Dying and Rebirth" y Maria José Costa Félix First Edition, 2010 Oficina do Livro 184 Pages A moving testimony from someone who believes life is a journey through time Death beckoned her more than once over the years, gradually leading her to realize that this fleeting life is not the true life—and that another, eternal one exists. In this book, Maria José Costa Félix speaks of the possibility we all have to remain alive—even when confronted with experiences of loss: of someone we love or of something to which we are attached. She thus invites readers to believe in life as always possible beyond any kind of death that may come their way. In the possibility of facing it—and saying to it: even if you separate me from those I love, take away something I cling to, my health, or even this familiar body of mine, I know all this is only part of my life. The beloved person who died remains with me, even though I can no longer touch them. They do not vanish from my life. What I have lost leads me to discover something being given to me—something I had not yet noticed. After all, are we not often dying in some way—and being reborn into something unknown? --- Always keeping her eyes firmly on the present, Maria José Costa Félix surprised us with the richness of her past. She was part of a research group at a psychiatric hospital in Rio de Janeiro and published a book in Brazil titled "Stories of a Name." A journalist and astrologer for over twenty years, she was an editor at Espaço T Magazine and Marie Claire, and a regular contributor to the magazine "Xis" in the newspaper Público.
