Mastip prides itself on supplying innovative hot runner solutions to the plastics injection molding industry backed by exceptional customer service and support which has seen us achieve strong growth in Europe. **Job Description** To manage, control and validate projects provide technical designs based on customer requirements, technical constraints and Mastip standards. To provide support to the sales team in design and project related tasks. To manage specific parts of a hot runner system project. To perform mold flow analysis. **Main Responsibilities** Design of manifold systems and nozzles * Designing accurate Hot Runner Systems to be used for injection moulding using 3D design software to create a 3D parametric modes based on company standard templates and to suit customer requirement. * Create accurate customer approval packages including 3D models, 2D drawings and Bill of Materials BoM as per Mastip standards ensuring completion of this as per the design schedule. Produce manufacturing BoMs, 3D models, 2D drawings for external and internal use * Produce accurate Bill of Manufacture, Bill of Materials (BoM), 3D models for CAD / CAM manufacture, and 2D drawings for systems and individual components to ensure that the correct machines and methods are used for manufacture. Project Managing of Hot Runner Systems Projects * Managing specific stages of a Hot Runner project * Ensure that customer needs and deadlines are met * Preparation of specific files to document the project Produce manufacturing BoMs, 3D models, 2D drawings for external and internal use * Produce accurate Bill of Manufacture, Bill of Materials (BoM), 3D models for CAD / CAM manufacture, and 2D drawings for systems and individual components to ensure that the correct machines and methods are used for manufacture. Other duties * Validate customer studies to ensure the system is well implemented in the mold * Support the sales team as required * Support factory with regards to manufacturing drawing changes * Participate in continuous improvement of Design area in terms of new designs and process improvement. * Work collaboratively with all other departments on continual improvement * You may be required to carry out other duties requested of you from time to time. **Teamwork** * Actively engage in maintaining great relationships with different teams within the company * Contribute to excellent team dynamics * To act professionally under all circumstances * Show consideration and respect for others * Contribute positively to the sense of team well\-being **Essential Skills** * Skilled and proficient in the use of 2D CAD software, and 3D CAD software (preferably NX) * Computer literate * Some knowledge of Hot Runner Systems and injection moulding * Ability to understand and create manufacturing drawings with geometric tolerances * Demonstrated skills in problem solving * Ability to follow company standards * Ability to complete standard systems with little to no assistance. * Ability to modify a standard template to create simple special layouts, and also make minor component modifications with little to no assistance. * Ability to setup basic computer assisted simulations (Moldflow) * Understand the different stages of a computer assisted simulation * Ability to create manufacturing information for system designs which also includes basic special components and build knowledge around Mastip machining capabilities and processes to ensure that designs can be manufactured. * Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy * Meet deadline expectations * Customer service orientated – internal and external (customer centric) * Works well without supervision * Will require full peer reviews in early stages but will be working towards self\-peer reviews for standard systems whilst progressing into intermediate designer * Have good time management and Personal Organisation skills * Must be safety conscious * Ability to give and receive directions to and from other team members * Possess strong interpersonal / communication skills to relate with all members of the team * Good personal presentation * Independent in written and spoken English * Flexible and adaptable, ability to learn quickly * High personal motivation, energy and good work habits * Collaborative and respectful (team player) * Love change * Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy * Meet deadline expectations * Customer service orientated – internal and external (customer centric) * Works well without supervision * Will require full peer reviews in early stages but will be working towards self\-peer reviews for standard systems whilst progressing into intermediate designer * Have good time management and Personal Organisation skills * Must be safety conscious * Ability to give and receive directions to and from other team members * Possess strong interpersonal / communication skills to relate with all members of the team * Good personal presentation * Independent in written and spoken English * Flexible and adaptable, ability to learn quickly * High personal motivation, energy and good work habits * Collaborative and respectful (team player) * Love change **Desirable Experience** * Previous experience with Hot Runner Systems and injection moulding * Previous experience with Injection Mold design * Machine shop experience – Manual lathes and mills.
