**Solutions 360**, a service and technology services company of MDS Group is recruiting for a **Systems Engineer.**
The Systems Engineer role is responsible for supporting and strengthening core IT operational and governance processes across the organisation. This is a technical role ensuring effective patching coverage, compliance reporting, vulnerability remediation, and process development, while contributing to wider IT risk, audit, monitoring, and asset management activities.
This role acts as a key control function within IT Operations, helping to improve consistency, reduce risk, and support regulatory and audit requirements.
**Key Role Accountabilities:**
**Patching \& Vulnerability Management**
* Provide operational cover for the IT patching team to ensure continuity of service.
* Own and maintain patching compliance reporting, ensuring accurate, timely, and audit‑ready outputs.
* Coordinate with technical teams to ensure vulnerabilities are prioritised, patched, and evidenced appropriately.
* Troubleshoot patch failures and restore services when appropriate.
**Network Operations and Monitoring**
* Provide operational cover for the IT Monitoring team to ensure continuity of service.
* Coordinate with technical teams to ensure that issues are prioritised, resolved, and logged appropriately.
* Maintain and configure network monitoring tools.
* Technical skills to resolve common monitoring issues including:
* Server resourcing e.g. disk space or CPU sizing.
* Active Directory and DNS issues
* Networking devices including switch and access points
* Website certificate renewals
* Backup failures
**IT Process Development \& Continuous Improvement**
* Develop, document, and maintain IT operational processes, ensuring they are clear, consistent, and aligned to organisational standards.
* Communicate process changes effectively to the wider IT team.
* Deliver or coordinate training and knowledge sharing sessions where required to embed new or updated processes.
**Operational Risk, Audit \& Assurance Support**
* Assist with IT Risk Management activities, including risk identification, documentation, and remediation.
* Support internal and external IT audits by collecting evidence and responding to audit requests.
* Contribute to asset management, and other core operational processes as required.
**Qualifications \& Experience:**
* Experience in IT Operations, IT Governance, or an IT infrastructure role.
* Experience working with patching, vulnerability management, network monitoring or security remediation processes.
* Demonstrable experience producing operational or compliance reporting.
* Experience developing and documenting IT processes, policies, or procedures.
* Familiarity with IT audit, risk management, or compliance activities.
* Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL) and security standards (e.g. ISO 27001\) is desirable.
Experience with Microsoft Azure administration and Windows.
