We are looking for a versatile Carpenter – Art Handler responsible for building transport crates, supports, and other technical components required for handling, packing, transporting, storing, and installing works of art. This role demands exceptional precision, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility, given the valuable and sensitive nature of the artworks you will handle. Key Responsibilities: - Building wooden transport crates, structures, and supports for works of art; - Packing, moving, transporting, and installing works of art using appropriate techniques; - Ensuring the safety and integrity of artworks throughout all stages of the process; - Storing and organizing artworks in warehouses and exhibition spaces; - Supporting the setup and dismantling of exhibitions; - Adhering to preventive conservation standards and best practices for handling artworks; - Following safety protocols and correctly using personal protective equipment (PPE); - Collaborating with the team on logistical and operational tasks. Requirements: - Completed secondary education (minimum); - Proven experience in carpentry/cabinetmaking, particularly in building crates and transport structures for works of art; - Prior experience in art handling, art logistics, museums, or galleries (preferred); - Knowledge of packing, moving, and installation techniques for works of art; - Basic understanding of preventive conservation and safety applied to cultural assets; - English – conversational level; - Valid driver’s license (Category B) and personal vehicle; - Heavy vehicle driver’s license will be considered an asset; - Availability for occasional national and international travel.
