The **SeaPower** – Association for the Development of the Maritime Economy, headquartered in Figueira da Foz, seeks to hire: **ENGINEER – MARITIME PROPULSION SYSTEMS** To strengthen its team and contribute to technological development projects in maritime mobility and energy transition. The professional will be responsible for developing, integrating, and optimizing propulsion systems for maritime platforms, working across all stages of the development lifecycle—from concept through validation and real-world implementation—in coordination with multidisciplinary teams. **Main Responsibilities:** · Development and integration of maritime propulsion systems (thermal, electric, and hybrid engines); · Design and sizing of energy systems for vessels (fossil and alternative fuels); · Analysis and optimization of energy efficiency and propulsion system performance; · Development of naval electrification solutions (batteries, fuel cells, hybrid systems); · Integration of e-fuels (e-methanol, ammonia, hydrogen) into propulsion architectures; · Execution of bench and operational environment testing and validation of systems; · Interpretation and analysis of performance data (consumption, emissions, efficiency); · Contribution to technical design and resolution of complex problems; · Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, control, and naval engineering); · Technical support for R&D activities and funded projects. **Mandatory Requirements:** · Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields; · Solid knowledge of thermodynamics, combustion, and energy systems; · Experience with marine internal combustion engines (diesel, dual-fuel, or alternative); · Knowledge of power electrical systems and naval electric propulsion; · Familiarity with e-fuel technologies (e-methanol, ammonia, hydrogen); · Knowledge of energy storage systems (batteries, hydrogen, liquid fuels); · Experience with instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition; · Ability to analyze performance and optimize energy systems; · Familiarity with maritime standards and environmental regulations (IMO, emissions, etc.); · Fluency in English (minimum level B2/C1). **Preferred Qualifications:** · Experience with simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, GT-Suite or similar); · Experience in national and European R&D projects; · Project planning, organization, and management capabilities; · Initiative and strong teamwork skills; · Strong communication skills and resilience under pressure. **Work Location:** Figueira da Foz, with possible travel to other sites **Contract Type:** Full Time **Contract Terms:** To be determined If you find this opportunity interesting, please send your CV with photo to E-mail: **jobs@seapower.pt**, referencing **ESP** Benefits: * Meal card/voucher Work location: On-site
