Online course "Cabanyal Z: the zombies also speak Spanish"

**Zombie series + Spanish class + conversation =** **A PERFECT PLAN!** Yes, yes, Cabanyal is a very "cool" neighborhood according to The Guardian. But what the British newspaper doesn't know is that **this neighborhood has some rather peculiar characters: ZOMBIES.** Yes, **zombies**! They are everywhere: among the tortillas at bar La Paca, behind the stalls of the Thursday market, hidden behind the rosemary of Cabanyal Horta... Even in tourist apartments! **Do you like zombie series? Would you like to discover the Valencian series ["Cabanyal Z"](https://cabanyalz.com/), filmed in Cabanyal** before co-livings and specialty coffee arrived? (Which is my addiction, truthfully) Would you like to learn about the **history** of this Valencia neighborhood and discuss in class **city life**, politics and corruption, coexistence among different social groups, drugs, and zombies? **If you answered YES to at least one question, this course might interest you.** **HOW THE COURSE WORKS** ➡️**Before each class**, you will watch an episode at home (they last about 20 minutes and have Spanish subtitles). You'll learn about recent politics in Valencia and the Cabanyal neighborhood, and study vocabulary and colloquial expressions. ➡️**In class**, we will watch clips from the episode, review vocabulary topics, and discuss themes from the series: gentrification, politics, neighborhood coexistence, social struggles, drugs, corruption, etc. ➡️**For class 10**, you will prepare questions for one of the creators of the series: Joan Alamar. **In class 11**, we will discuss Joan's responses to your questions and reflect on the future of Cabanyal and urban life: what does a neighborhood need to be a true neighborhood? ➡️ The series has **10 episodes**, and the course consists of **11 classes**. ➡️ There are two groups: * **Thursday afternoons**: from 6 to 7 pm (from Thursday, **October 2** to Thursday, **December 4**) * **Friday mornings**: from 10 to 11 am (from Friday, **October 3** to Friday, **December 5**) ➡️ Spanish level: You need at least an **intermediate level** of Spanish (B1-B2) ➡️Price: 220€
