BUSINESS SPEAKERS TOASTMASTERS CLUB: Business meets every Thursday at Critical Software Entrecampos, Lisbon, starting at 7:45 PM. Meetings are usually in Portuguese, but we also have sessions in English on the second and last Thursday of each month. Toastmasters is a nonprofit organization and global leader in communication (speaking, listening, and thinking) and leadership development. You will find a positive and supportive learning environment where each member has the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills. COMMUNICATION: At Toastmasters, you can master new tools to improve your communication, identify all areas needing improvement, recognize your strengths to further enhance them, and use the communication process to effectively serve your purpose in every speech. LEADERSHIP: Sometimes we step onto the stage; other times we lead from behind, supporting those who take the stage. This responsibility is reflected in specific roles, such as speech evaluators. Sessions are divided into three parts, each featuring different types of speeches: PREPARED: Weekly, we have members delivering prepared speeches based on the communication manual, whether the basic or advanced manuals. IMPROVISED: The challenge… 30 seconds to think and then deliver a speech. EVALUATION: Constructive feedback provided on all aspects of the session, from speeches to evaluators. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
