The job positions are further characterized by carrying out, autonomously and with responsibility, the activities of the organizational unit for which this procedure is opened, namely the autonomous and responsible performance of study, design and application of methods and processes, grounded in professional knowledge inherent to the bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Restoration, specifically: a) Monitoring implementation of plans and activity programmes of services dependent on the DGLAB in the fields of conservation and restoration; b) Providing technical support for the preparation of exhibitions and other initiatives developed by the DGLAB; c) Ensuring all procedures related to temporary lending, dispatch and export of heritage assets; d) Collaborating in preservation procedures related to acquisition and acceptance of donations and deposits of documents; e) Providing technical support on preservation, conservation and restoration matters to services dependent on the DGLAB and the ACE; f) Collaborating in the study and application of new methods and technologies in the field of conservation and restoration; g) Studying the application of graphic document reproduction techniques as a means of preservation or as an analytical method of their conservation status, and exploiting new image processing technologies; h) Analysing the conservation status of documents, diagnosing causes and determining appropriate intervention types; i) Performing preservation, conservation and restoration work; j) Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment; k) Environmental control and integrated pest management; l) Assessing laboratory operational conditions and quality of work produced; m) Participating in multidisciplinary teams; n) Cooperating in raising awareness and disseminating techniques for conserving graphic documents.
