As an Application Engineer II on the Data Intelligence Products team, you'll be at the centre of that mission: productising Mollie's data to deliver cross\-domain, customer\-facing capabilities — from actionable business insights and performance benchmarking, to payment optimisation and adaptive fraud protection. This is a high\-ownership, entrepreneurial role in a small, fast\-paced team operating in a true "zero to one" environment. Your work will be highly visible to senior leadership and will directly shape how Mollie wins and retains upmarket merchants. You'll have the freedom to take ideas from concept to production quickly, building the foundational platform and launching features that span the full breadth of Mollie's product surface — giving merchants the enterprise\-grade analytics, monitoring, and optimisation tools they need to drive conversion, protect revenue, and grow with confidence. **What you'll ship** * Transform internal data into customer\-facing products — shifting focus from internal operations to merchant\-facing utilities that drive real business outcomes * Build and launch features within Mollie's Insights product and expand into payment conversion optimisation, applying data\-intensive engineering to core payment systems * Design and deliver reliable, performant architectures capable of operating at high scale and high transaction intensity * Contribute to the foundational platform that powers Mollie's data intelligence offering across fraud protection, benchmarking, and analytics * Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership to shape the product as you build it — from idea through to production **What you'll bring** * 5\+ years of experience developing large\-scale backend applications, with strong proficiency in Java (primary requirement); experience with PHP, Go, C\#, or Python is also valued * Proven experience designing systems that handle queuing, caching, concurrency, fault tolerance, and scalability in high\-volume, high\-intensity environments * Experience working with data\-intensive systems, ML infrastructure, or analytics platforms — you don't need to build models, but you understand data and how to engineer around it * A product\-first mindset — you think in terms of merchant outcomes like conversion, revenue, and protection, not just technical elegance * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and business stakeholders in a fast\-moving, entrepreneurial environment * An Always Be Shipping mentality — consistently delivering value where speed and quality go hand in hand **Grow your way** At Mollie, growth is personal.
