High-current, low-impedance discrete power transistors are used for each channel. Thus, the 125 watts per channel (8 ohms) power ensures speakers deliver wide, highly faithful sound with broad dynamic range for reproducing movie soundtracks. The power section of the Denon AVC-A11 SR uses a high-current toroidal transformer and high-capacity electrolytic capacitors optimized for audio use to provide consistent power. The Denon AVC-A11 SR complies with Lucasfilm Inc.'s THX Ultra standard for the following characteristics: sound quality, power supply, stability under low-impedance loads (3.2 ohms and above), and ease of use. THX 5.1 and 4.0 post-processing enhancements enrich soundtrack playback by ensuring timbre matching, new equalization, greater delay accuracy, dynamic decorrelation, and superior bass management. Elaborate chassis design for perfect sound reproduction By placing the toroidal transformer at the device's center, unwanted vibrations were eliminated and ventilation optimized. The digital circuits of the Denon AVC-A11 SR were placed at the bottom and center of the unit inside a separate enclosure, isolating them from other components, while the power amplifier circuits are located on the left and right sides. Additionally, analog wiring was isolated from video wiring to prevent interference. The entire design preserves audio signal purity from input to output, delivering sharp, powerful sound faithful to the original recording details. Pure Direct mode for best audio quality The Denon AVC-A11 SR allows listening to surround and stereo sound in Pure Direct mode. This mode automatically cuts power to video circuits, front panel display, digital circuit power supply, and D/A conversion section, then switches to 8 DACs. This switching provides ideal D/A conversion for stereo CD and audio DVD playback, achieving maximum transparency, widest bandwidth, and dynamic range. Switchable crossover hinge frequency The Denon AVC-A11 SR allows choosing between three values for subwoofer crossover hinge frequency: 80, 100, and 120 Hz. This enables better adaptation of subwoofer crossover characteristics according to the performance of the main speakers. Cinema Equalizer Sound from sources encoded in Dolby Digital, DTS, or other formats is emphasized in the high frequencies to compensate for losses caused in cinemas by placing speakers behind the projection screen. If this sound is played back directly in a home theater, the highs will be too strong. The Denon AVR-3802 includes a Cinema Equalizer circuit designed to compensate for this high-frequency emphasis, resulting in clearer, less fatiguing sound. (For Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS Surround modes.) High-quality sound reproduction thanks to DDSC-Digital circuit Equipped with Analog Devices SHARC DSP processors operating in 32-bit floating-point, DENON's DDSC-D circuit (Discrete Digital Surround & Cinema) faithfully reproduces every nuance of the original performance. Compared to common 24-bit fixed-point DSP processors, the 32-bit SHARC floating-point DSP offers significantly greater computational power, enabling remarkably fine sound reproduction in both stereo and multichannel. Digital-to-analog recording The Denon AVC-A11 SR allows making analog recordings from digital sources. Multizone settings The Denon AVC-A11 SR features a multizone output function and a selection function allowing different sources to be output to multiple rooms. Sources can be selected for output to two additional zones besides the main room. The multi-room Zone 1 can have a preamplifier output with a composite video feed, and multi-room Zone 2 can have a fixed stereo audio output. Dolby Pro Logic II decoder Enjoy stereo (2-channel) recordings in 5.1 surround with surprising impact. The Dolby Pro Logic II decoder reproduces dynamic 5.1 surround sound not only from a normal 5.1 DVD but also from 2-channel sources such as video cassettes and CDs. Dolby Pro Logic II employs significantly improved matrix decoding technology compared to Pro Logic. With Pro Logic II, the Surround channels (rear) are stereo (mono only in Pro Logic), and their bandwidth covers the entire audible spectrum (though cut off at 7 kHz with Pro Logic). These improvements allow a wide range of 2-channel sources to benefit from the spectacular effects provided by 5.1 surround sound. Personal Memory Plus function for ease of use The Denon AVC-A11 SR features the Personal Memory Plus function, which automatically recalls the Surround mode used for each source, eliminating the need for the user to reselect this mode for that source. Playback compatibility with "high-resolution" media such as DVD-Audio or SACD.
