Job Summary: The Civil Works Site Manager is responsible for the coordination, planning, execution, and technical control of civil works at battery energy storage system (BESS) facilities, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, contractual, environmental, and safety requirements. Focus on safety, quality, and environment ### **Job Description and Responsibilities** The Civil Works Site Manager is responsible for the coordination, planning, execution, and technical control of all civil works associated with the construction and commissioning of a battery energy storage system (BESS) facility, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, contractual, environmental, and safety requirements. Reports hierarchically to the Project Site Manager (SM). Main Responsibilities 1\. Planning and Technical Coordination Review the execution design (specification documents, drawings, technical specifications). Review the detailed civil works schedule and critically assess it. Coordinate interfaces with: Main equipment: BESS and Power Conversion Systems (PCS), GenSets; Electrical works; 2\. Execution of Civil Works Supervise and ensure correct execution, as well as proper completion of quality documentation for: Earthworks and site grading; Foundation and mass construction for BESS, PCS, and transformer containers; Support structures; Drainage networks; Trenches and inspection chambers; Platforms and access roads; Retaining walls and underground infrastructure; Concrete pouring, formwork, and reinforcement works; Compaction and geotechnical control works; Coordination of lifting and unloading operations using 230-ton cranes. 3\. Team and Subcontractor Management Coordinate foremen and technical teams. Oversee civil subcontractors. Validate measurement certificates and production control records. Ensure adherence to deadlines and productivity targets. 4\. Safety, Quality, and Environment Ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Plan. Ensure application of applicable technical standards; Ensure compliance with requirements defined by the Client and Supervision; Ensure implementation of best practices related to: Excavation and shoring works; Crane and heavy equipment operations; Works near electrical infrastructure; Coordination with the Safety Officer; Compliance with environmental requirements (dust control, waste management, drainage). 5\. Commissioning Ensure all civil infrastructure is completed and ready for equipment installation; Ensure delivery of “as-built” documentation; Support the commissioning team whenever required. ### **Candidate Profile** Competencies: Proactivity and critical thinking; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering; Experience in: Industrial construction projects; Execution of special foundations and technical platforms; Underground infrastructure and drainage systems; Ability to read and interpret execution drawings; Strong planning and organizational skills; Ability to make decisions under pressure; Results-oriented mindset; Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
