Tasks to be performed: Develop fundamental and applied technical and scientific studies on natural resources of aquatic ecosystems, more specifically on the biology and ecology of diadromous fish species and on the pressures and threats affecting them, at regional, national and transboundary scales; Use this new knowledge to contribute, jointly with administrative entities and stakeholders involved in the management and exploitation of these resources, to the definition of innovative policies and measures enabling optimization of management and enhancement programs targeting these natural resources; Carry out capacity-building and knowledge transfer activities for regional and national public and private entities, as well as for stakeholders interested in the defined topics. Tasks to be performed: The position involves tasks related to the study, conservation, management and enhancement of aquatic ecosystems and their natural resources, including diadromous migratory species and their marine, coastal, estuarine and freshwater habitats. Work will be conducted at the facilities of the University of Évora and MARE/ARNET, potentially including travel to various Regional Units associated with this research center/associated laboratory, as well as to several national river basins.
