Emphasis on quality, customization, and innovation **We are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer – Product Development to join the OTIIMA universe in Laúndos, Póvoa de Varzim.** This professional will design efficient technical solutions that meet customer requirements, calculated and sized according to applicable regulations. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to this legacy of excellence, working alongside professionals passionate about what they do. **If you join us, your main tasks and responsibilities will be:** * Design of Minimalist Systems: Develop and size custom solutions for large-scale minimalist façades and glazing (in aluminum and steel), integrating mechanical components (locks, hardware, supports) and motorized solutions * Architectural Compatibility: Translate the architect’s concept into feasible technical solutions, optimized from technical, economic, and environmental perspectives from the feasibility study phase onward * Structural Validation and FEA: Evaluate stresses and deformations through static FEA analyses, ensuring structural integrity under loads and meeting functional requirements * Technical Modeling and Drawing: Model and detail in SolidWorks (managing complex assemblies, configurations, and part families) and prepare manufacturing and assembly drawings for metalwork * Material Specification: Select appropriate materials, production processes, surface coatings, and treatments for each project * Production and Installation Support: Ensure rigorous transfer of technical information to factory and site teams, guaranteeing alignment between design and execution * Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Monitor market trends, new standards, and industry best practices to continuously optimize building envelope systems **Ideal Candidate Profile:** **Mandatory** * 3–5 years of experience in similar roles * Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent technical education with proven experience in structural calculation/validation) * Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks software, with strong organizational capabilities (assemblies, configurations, part families) * Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD software * Solid understanding of mechanical concepts: stresses, deformations, and static FEA analyses * Experience preparing production drawings (manufacturing and assembly) * Knowledge of metals, production processes, surface coatings, and treatments * Intermediate level of English (spoken and written) * Creative and innovative mindset * Self-taught, curious profile with a disruptive vision * Proactivity, critical thinking, and desire for growth * Ability to work collaboratively in highly dynamic environments **Preferred** * Specialization in Structures * VBA programming * Experience in the glazing/metalworking sector * Knowledge of Robot Structural Analysis * Familiarity with Eurocodes (EN 1991, 1993, 1999, and EN 16612) **We distinguish ourselves by pursuing solutions aimed at well-being and happiness at work.
