**Job Description:**Activities to be performed: The researcher will be responsible for detailed characterization of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the action of selected miRNAs in phenotypes associated with cardiac fibrosis, as well as evaluation of their anti-fibrotic activity in engineered human myocardium and in vivo using preclinical mouse models of cardiac fibrosis. Studies will involve cell isolation and culture, transfection of miRNAs/siRNAs, RNA-seq, high-throughput fluorescence microscopy, image analysis, detailed mechanistic studies, and tissue analysis via immunocytochemistry, qPCR, and Western blotting. Proven experience in molecular and cellular biology is essential. Proven experience in high-throughput fluorescence microscopy, advanced in vitro models, animal experimentation, and/or molecular cardiology will be valued.
