Despite Christmas looming, the universe is gifting us with the opportunity to sit back and give our dreams and schemes to the unconscious where they can stew, brew and return to us in usable formats. As the only God with the capacity to travel between the worlds, I often speak of how Mercury/Hermes brings us messages from the underworld. He/She brings the unconscious to light. But I neglect to think of the equally important function of Hermes to gather our conscious dreams and schemes and send them down to the otherworld where they have the opportunity to ferment, to grow and to return to us as ideas and plans to manifest them in the material world. This I feel is the most important aspect of Novembers retrograde Mercury. There are other clues to this. As Mercury tumbles down into the quiet of a contemplative retrogradation, it also becomes part of that beautiful water trine that November is giving us. This trine is also extended as the Sun. Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars all travel through Scorpio, sending a warm embrace to Jupiter in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces. Or maybe it is Jupiter/Cancer which sends the warm embrace to the other more reticent and murky waters. Either way, let's get together and ruminate on these events in our own charts. Oh, and yes, those ideas will return. Mercury will be passing over an opposition to Uranus, also retrograde. And Uranus always shines, or reshines, the light and brings things back to the surface.
