




STROMAE – the Portuguese subsidiary of the MAESTRO Knitting group – is a company that develops and manufactures fully fashion knitted apparel for medium to high-end international brands. We are a rapidly growing group with offices and factories in Portugal, Italy, France, Bulgaria, and China. We have around 100 employees worldwide and are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced **Quality Controller/Inspector** for our branch in Guimarães. **MISSION** The Quality Controller will join the Quality/Production department and report directly to the Quality Manager. The role involves inspecting/controlling the quality of knitted panels, classifying any non-conformities, and ensuring accurate recording of piece counts, thereby continuously improving overall production productivity and quality. **MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES** * **Panel inspection:** inspect 100% of production (or defined sampling), identify defects, and record them according to the classification matrix “minor / major”. * **Reporting:** prepare daily non-conformance reports and follow up on their resolution. * **Piece counting:** count the number of units per manufacturing order and reconcile data with the ERP system. * **Coordination with Production:** work closely with the Production Director to adjust batches, rhythms, and control plans. * **Continuous improvement:** propose preventive and corrective actions (layout, processes, training) that contribute to productivity goals and defect reduction. * **Compliance with standards:** adhere to current health and safety, environmental, and CSR policies. * **Versatility:** perform other tasks compatible with the role as delegated by the immediate supervisor. **IDEAL CANDIDATE** * **Minimum education:** 12th grade; preferably a technical course in Textiles or Quality. * **Experience:** at least two years in knitting inspection, garment assembly, or industrial quality control. * **Technical skills:** knowledge of knit/fabric defects, ability to read technical specifications, proficiency in Excel. * **Behavioral skills:** autonomy, numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and effective communication with production and quality teams. * **Advantageous:** familiarity with ISO 9001, Lean, OEKO-TEX, or other sustainability standards; ability to train operators. **WHAT WE OFFER:** An exciting opportunity within a dynamic and expanding company, offering real potential for professional growth and recognition based on merit.
