Influencing architectural decisions and technology strategy Integration Engineer Lead Expert \| webMethods **Location:** Lisbon, Portugal **Model:** Hybrid — minimum 3 days/week onsite **Seniority:** Lead / Expert **Language:** English **Duration:** To be defined About the opportunity We are looking for an **Integration Engineer Lead Expert** to join an international project in Lisbon, assuming the role of **Design Authority** in the integration domain. This is a senior and specialized position with a strong focus on **Software AG / webMethods**, where responsibilities extend well beyond technical implementation. We seek someone capable of **defining, validating, and guiding integration architectures**, establishing technical standards, and supporting strategic decisions — serving as the technical reference for the domain. Key responsibilities * Act as **Design Authority** for integration solutions and architectures; * Define and validate integration architectures, standards, and principles; * Ensure evolution and consistency of the integration architecture; * Work directly with the **Software AG / webMethods** platform; * Support decisions related to **Integration Server, API Gateway, and Universal Messaging**; * Contribute to the definition and evolution of the **technology roadmap**; * Evaluate technical solutions and ensure alignment with defined standards; * Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and various organizational units; * Manage and oversee the technical relationship with **software vendors**; * Translate complex technical concepts clearly for diverse audiences; * Contribute to modernizing the integration architecture in cloud and containerized environments. Mandatory requirements We require solid, proven experience in: * **6+ years of experience with Software AG / webMethods**; * Practical experience in **configuring and maintaining the webMethods platform**; * **Integration Server**; * **API Gateway**; * **Universal Messaging**; * Experience with **webMethods v10**; * Experience in **integration architecture and solution design**; * Experience acting as a technical reference / **Design Authority**; * Knowledge of **Docker and OpenShift**; * Experience with **AWS and/or Azure**; * Knowledge of **Terraform / Infrastructure as Code**; * Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; * Strong communication and presentation skills; * Ability to simplify complex technical information; * Professional English.
