We are looking for a Firmware Development Engineer to join our electronics team. You will be responsible for developing firmware for critical embedded flight systems — from battery management systems (BMS) and navigation peripherals to communication modules — on UAV platforms. You will work closely with hardware, system integration, and flight test teams in an environment where reliability and safety are top priorities.
##### **Key Responsibilities**
* Develop, test, and maintain firmware in C/C\+\+ for microcontrollers, including peripheral configuration and power management;
* Design firmware architectures based on RTOS, with attention to temporal determinism, task priorities, and synchronization mechanisms;
* Implement and validate communication protocols between drone subsystems;
* Integrate firmware with the flight controller ecosystem, including development of peripheral nodes;
* Perform hardware-level testing using oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and trace tools (SWD/JTAG);
* Write technical documentation and participate in code and design reviews;
* Support bench validation campaigns and flight tests, analyzing logs and diagnosing anomalies.
##### **Desired Profile**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
* Experience developing firmware for ARM Cortex\-M microcontrollers, preferably STM32;
* Experience with communication protocols used in drones, e.g.: CAN, MAVLink, UART, SPI, I²C, SBUS, Ethernet;
* Experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, SWD/JTAG probes);
* Autonomy in problem investigation and resolution, with transparent communication of risks and uncertainties;
* Passion for multidisciplinary work at the intersection of firmware, hardware, and system integration;
* Availability for on-site work in Alverca do Ribatejo.
##### **Benefits and Career Opportunities**
* Monthly gross salary range: €1,400 to €1,600;
